Carrie Underwood Inducted Into the Grand Ole Opry

On Saturday May 10, 2008, Carrie Underwood was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry.

Garth Brooks inducted Underwood into the Grand Ole Opry, and she performed a duet with Vince Gill.

The Grand Ole Opry has been running since 1925, and is the longest continuous running radio show in the United States.

Singers are invited to join the show based on their contribution to country music as well as their commitment to the show, which is determined based on the number of guest appearances they make on the Opry.

The Grand Ole Opry airs every Friday and Saturday night on WSM-AM.
